Immunological effects of radiation therapy: potential of combined use of radiation and chemotherapy
Originally, a better response to cancer immunotherapy associated with radiation therapy was registered in NSCLC patients. Later, it became apparent that the same effect could be observed in combined treatment of cancers of other sites as well. Jorge Contreras from Hospital Regional Universitario de Málaga, President of the Spanish Society for Cancer Radiology, will be the key speaker to deliver a talk on this topic at the forum. This is what Professor Sergei Novikov, Chair of the Radiation Therapy Department at the Nikolai Petrov National Medical Research Center of Oncology (Saint Petersburg, Russia), shared with us on this topic.
