X St. Petersburg International Oncology Forum "White Nights 2025": preliminary conclusions
The Forum is rightly considered the largest oncology event in Russia today. This year, the Forum was held on 3–7 July. During the five days of the Forum, there were 4,148 visits to the sessions of the scientific program and 3,514 connections to the live broadcasts of the sessions. Participants represented 29 countries and 265 cities around the world. The total broadcast time exceeded 300 hours, with 97 sessions, including 15 live surgical demonstrations. 665 Russian and foreign speakers delivered 722 lectures.
The Forum confidently asserts its international status, with 36 specialists from near and far abroad representing: Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Israel, Kazakhstan, Spain, Tajikistan, the USA, Turkey, etc.
The event brought together specialists from all regions of Russia: from the Far East to Kaliningrad. The experts exchanged ideas and practical results, talked about their projects and the latest research.
The first day, 3 July, was entirely dedicated to live surgery. During the entire duration of the Forum, 15 surgical procedures were performed live, with a total broadcast time of more than 50 hours.
In addition to the topics dedicated to the screening, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, the participants also discussed organizational issues of medical care in oncology, professional development, the place of artificial intelligence in clinical practice, the prospects of cellular immunotherapy in oncology and many other topics.
Traditionally, the Forum's program also included sessions for young professionals, and the winners of the competition for scientific papers by young professionals received their awards. The session for nursing staff was held in the form of a round table and was dedicated to the topic of mentoring. There was also a session on building a doctor's personal brand, which was attended by media representatives, bloggers and heads of press services of oncology institutions.
On the last day of the Forum, a meeting was held for patients, their relatives and all those involved in oncology community. The director of the State Hermitage Museum, Mr. Mikhail Piotrovsky, took part in this meeting. The work of the patient activists was honored with letters of appreciation. Another important event at the Forum was the workshop of the School for Postlaryngectomy Patients.
The "White Nights” forum is always a place for important topics, intensive discussions and warm encounters with colleagues!
